Volunteering on the Cruising Classroom:

Volunteers are a vital part of the Cruising Classroom.  We are continually seeking new volunteers to assist in instruction of our educational program.  We train our volunteers to lead instruction in the areas of plankton and sea water/oceanography.  There is room for our program to grow, and we look forward to you sharing ideas and special talents with us along the way.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Be over 18 years of age
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Have a love for the marine environment
  • You do not need to have a degree in science to participate.  We look forward to training you
  • Available mornings from 8:15 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. when cruises are scheduled

If you have any questions about volunteering on the Sea World UCLA, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Peggy Hamner , at phamner@ucla.edu or (310) 206-8247.
