How
to reserve a cruise:
To reserve a cruise call the UCLA Marine Science Center at (310) 206-8247
or e-mail Tami Boroch, at tamib@biology.ucla.edu.
Be prepared to give the following:
- Desired date of cruise (first choice / second choice)
- Purpose of cruise (Cruising Classroom, Course Instruction, research, collection, etc.)
- Your school's or agency's name, address, telephone and fax number.
- Grade level of class and number of passengers (maximum number is 40, including chaperones).
(For safety
reasons no one below 4th grade is permitted aboard the ship).
When to reserve a cruise:
You must make reservations at least 2 weeks in advance of your cruise
date. At the time of your reservation an information packet will be sent
to you with enclosed forms to be returned as soon as possible.
Fees:
4 hr. (1/2 day) cruise (grades 4-12) is $450.00.
Research/college cruises are $150.00 per hour. Fees will be negotiated
for cruises longer than 8 hours.
Chaperones:
We require an adult to student ratio of 1 to 9 for grades 4-12 cruises,
e.g. 3 chaperones to 30 students.
